Mission Trip 2025 Wrap Up

The group made it home safely from Indianapolis on Friday. The drive home was significantly more quiet this time around with tired kids, but from the front of the van, I could hear the youth talking about the new friends and memories they made.

During this trip our group was able to work with some amazing organizations, which you heard the youth talk about on the blog all week. These organizations included a community garden, the Horizon House shelter, the Wheeler distribution center and shelter, Changing Footprints, Ronald McDonald House, St. Vincent DePaul food pantry and distribution center, Dat House, and Meals on Wheels. (Make sure to ask them about what all they did the next time you see them!) Most of these organizations focused on serving the unhoused population in Indianapolis. Who knew there was such a need? Not knowing much about Indianapolis, it was surprising to me to see the countless number of community members in need.

While many of these service sites had us working behind the scenes, sorting and organizing donations to be distributed, we were reminded by Pastor Steve at Faith Community Church, that even the smallest of tasks need to be accomplished to fulfill the bigger plans that God has put into place in the community and in our lives.

I am so thankful for the YouthWorks organization, the staff in Indianapolis and all of the people we were able to work alongside this week. These people poured into our youth and showed them how to love like Jesus did. I know that this group of kids learned so much and grew together and in their faith this week. I’m proud of all the work they accomplished and am looking forward to continuing what we started in Indianapolis this week as we get to planning for the upcoming year.

God is good all the time!
