Meet The Staff

Emily is a native of Pittsburgh who grew up in the South Hills area.  She holds a law degree from the University of Pittsburgh, and she practiced law in both Philadelphia and Pittsburgh.   In 2001, Emily decided to answer God’s call and entered seminary to become an ordained minister.  Since then, she has served many churches in and around the Pittsburgh area as an associate pastor, a solo pastor and a transitional pastor.  Emily has been married to her husband Ed for 35 years and they have four grown children and two cats.  She is excited to be at JMPC and to walk with this wonderful church to discover what God has in store!

Alicia Kesneck brings a spirit of kindness, creativity, and community to everything she does. As Vice President of Carnegie Shade Trees, coordinator of a local community garden, and a passionate advocate for youth art programs at her local farmer’s market, Alicia is deeply rooted in service and connection. Whether she’s gardening, playing fetch with her dog, or enjoying quiet moments with her husband, Alicia finds joy in life’s simple pleasures.

Now a cherished member of the staff at John McMillan Presbyterian Church, Alicia describes the church as a “home away from home,” captivated by its scenic beauty and the love that radiates from every corner. Her laid-back nature and heartfelt dedication to helping others make her a wonderful addition to the team. She’s excited to get to know the congregation and continue growing in faith and fellowship together.

Carolyn grew up in Columbus, Ohio and attended Otterbein University where she graduated with a degree in applied vocal music.  She also studied vocal pedagogy at the Ohio State University.  She taught voice and piano for 40 years and has directed choirs in Ohio, Indiana, Tennessee and Pennsylvania. She loves to sew and garden and leads the SHIM gardeners here at JMPC.  We couldn't do it without her. Carolyn is married to Rick and they have 3 daughters and 5 grandchildren.

We are proud to have Elizabeth as our organist since 2001. She is an amazing and talented musician, an invaluable asset to our church.

For the past 20 years, Kim as lived in Peters Township with her husband and 4 children. She enjoys spending time with her family, taking walks with her dog, reading, traveling, baking, gardening, and connecting with friends.

She has been in the field of Education since graduating from college, and has gathered years of experience as both an Elementary and Preschool teacher, as well as a Director.

Jackie has been the lead tech since 2021, expertly handling visuals and live streaming. Her dedication and technical skills ensure that every event runs smoothly and looks stunning. With her at the helm, audiences can always expect a top-notch viewing experience.
