Mission 2025 Trip Day 1

Day 1- Arrival

After many months of planning, scrambling with fundraisers, dealing with schedule conflicts and adding new  youth and leaders to fill all the spots needed, it is crazy  to finally  head out to Indianapolis today to embark on another mission trip  through Youthworks.

After worshipping at JMPC and partaking in communion with our church family,  10 middle and high school youth and 3 adult leaders  hopped in our sweet Mercedes 15 passenger van to drive the 6 hours to see what Indianapolis has in store for us.

Why Indianapolis? Because after a year of transition but still steady and consistent growth as a youth group, it was where God called us to be, maybe due to  proximity, possibly due to familiarity with the organization, but definitely bc it was the place God made  available for us to be.

Steve was our MVP of the day as he maneuvered the large “bus” to transport us safely to our destination. True champion!

We arrived and quickly went back and forth between the church we’ll be eating, learning, and worshipping at though the week and the church we’ll be sleeping at, approximately 10 minute apart to unload and get started.

We were greeted warmly by the  3 youth works staff and 3 others church groups from Iowa and Kansas City.  We found out groups we’d be split into during the day for our service sites  and meal preparation and cleaning groups.

The proud moment of the day  as a leader was to see our kids engaged and  leading with energy and passion  during the worship time.

And in our small group time they all expressed excitement to be together as a group this week and to meet new people and see the experiences we will find in  Indianapolis.

God is good, All the time.
