This week was full of amazing memories, and personally, I made so many new friendships. I spent a lot of time at Family Promise, helping to organize, assemble furniture, and clean their building. One day, I even got to help out at a thrift shop, organizing their space. These trips are always so much fun, getting to meet new people, hear their stories, play games with the group (even when things get a little crazy and cause arguments…), and most importantly, helping people and making an impact. Today, we spent time at Augusta Quarry and stopped at Buc-ee's and Sheetz.

Today was a travel day so I was instructed to recap the great week we all had. The youth were split into two groups for the week, one went to KARM (Knoxville Area Rescue Mission) and another to Family Promise. My group went to KARM. On day one and two, we served at their thrift store to clean, restock, and organize the racks of clothes and books. The last two days we went to their homeless shelter. We did many things there such as pass out concessions, deep clean, interact with the people, and serve two meals. It was so amazing to interact with them and to hear some incredible stories; some happy, some sad. My favorite thing was talking to guys we met while serving lunch in the home care unit. So far today we went to Augusta Quarry and swam. We then hit the road and made a stop at Buc-ee’s!
