Adopt a Garden 2021

This year’s Spring Clean-Up is on Saturday, May 1 from 8am – Noon. Bark mulch will be available that day for your garden plot.

The Building and Grounds team invites you and your family (or your organization) to adopt a garden for the 2021 year. We have many gardens (about 21) around the church that are in need of some green thumb(or any other color) care. Work alone, meditatively, to cultivate the gardens for the growing season; make them one of your family’s fun time projects; gather a couple of friends to work on one of the plots; fulfill some community service hours; or encourage your special group to take on a service project. Each area is small, but each has potential for color and design. As Earth’s caretakers, we can plant and trim and weed as demonstrated in the parables of Jesus. Your commitment will be about four hours a month. Although you will sign up as individuals for a particular area, you could also team up with those who are gardening around you to share the watering and weeding efforts throughout the season.

Contact Pam Dobos with questions.

2021 Volunteer Interest Survey

Help out at JMPC!

Are you interested in volunteering with the Deacons? We’d love to hear about what you’d like to do! Please click the button below and take the Volunteer Interest Survey so we can call on you to help others in times of need. We want everyone to be fully comfortable and enthusiastic about volunteering, so none of these activities will resume until the church opens back up fully.

If you have any questions, please contact Deanna Kovell.

Imagination Library Outreach 2021

Duquesne Presbyterian church has decided to start the Dolly Parton Imagination Library in Duquesne. This program will send every child in Duquesne a book each month from birth until they go to kindergarten. You can learn more about the program here:
                         https://imaginationlibrary.com/
Pastor Judy has invited us to help in funding this program, which gets books to an under resourced community! There are a few ways to think about supporting this ministry. Twenty-five Dollars will support a child for 1 year. If you give $125 you would support a child with books until they get to kindergarten. Of course, any other amount will help support as well. The outreach pillar at JMPC has offered a $1,000 matching gift for the program. If JMPC members raise $1,000 Outreach will give an additional $1,000. This is an amazing program that tangibly will help kids now, and in their future! If you would like to donate send a check to JMPC and write Dolly in the memo section. If you have any questions, please contact Pastor Matt. This is a great cause to support so spread the word and let’s get some books into the hands of kids!
