Youth Ministry

Our focus for youth ministry is to serve, play games, eat together, and learn about God. In doing all of it we recognize we are worshiping Jesus! Everyone in 7th thru 12th grade is invited to everything that we do! For questions about youth programs, please contact Emily Shubilla in the church office, ext 112, or dce@johnmcmillanpc.org.

Youth Group

Youth Group meets Wednesday nights starting September 5th from 5-7pm.  The night consists of fun, games, food, friendship, and digging into the Bible.

All Students 7-12 grade are welcome–and so are their friends!  Please bring 3 dollars for dinner.

We also go on retreats, service projects, mission trips, lock outs, and so much more.

Youth Mission Trip

Every summer the youth take a trip to serve a different part of the country.  In the past few years, they have served in Houston and Washington D.C. On these tris, the youth participate in community service projects, learn about and spread the word of God, see local sights, and create unforgettable friendships. Trips vary in cost and fundraising and assistance are available.

Duquesne Kids Club and Partnership

Duquesne Kids Club is where members of JMPC travel to the First Presbyterian Church of Duquesne, on Monday evenings, for youth group gatherings with the younger kids of Duquesne. The evening sessions involve a Bible lesson, dinner and a fun recreation time.

Students in 9th grade and above are invited to participate in this ministry. In addition, we welcome those who wish to volunteer to provide dinners.

Confirmation Classes

Confirmation is a time for young people (8th grade and above) to explore their faith in God, or to begin to take on Christian faith for themselves–a time to learn what it means to be a member of a church. It is a time for questions, exploring, listening for God, and a time for growing as disciples of Jesus Christ. Plus, it’s a time for friendship and fun as we journey together. During our time together, the class explores the Trinity, Grace, Prayer, Mission, what it means to be a church and more. The class travels to other churches to experience worship in our denominations and cultures.  We celebrate our class by writing a statement of faith, going on a retreat to Windy Ridge, and having a Confirmands dinner with the church session and families. The group meets for 6 weeks on Sunday after church service, around 11 AM- 12noon.
