Global 6k for Water

May 18, 2024

Did you know that 1 in 10 people around the world don’t have clean water close to home? We can help change that together!

Join the JMPC team for World Vision’s Global 6K for Water this May! It’s going to be an incredible event as we walk, run, or roll 6 kilometers (3.7 miles), the average distance women and children in the developing world walk to get to a water source.

John McMillan Presbyterian Church will be hosting a local 6K on Saturday, May 18 at 8:00 AM in Rolling Hills Park (right next to the new Peters Township High School). We need YOUR support! Come run, walk, roll and cheer to our way to 6K in support of clean water for all. Every step you take is one they won’t have to! Here’s how you can help:

1. Join our team here: JMPC World Vision 6K for Water to walk or run 6K in the park. Each $50 registration fee ($25 for youth) supports World Vision’s initiative!

2. Every person who joins the team will empower one person in need with lasting access to clean water, so invite your friends and family to join us too, by sending them the team link!

3. Donate to the fundraising page of any team member registered (you’ll find them on the team page), or donate via a check at church with “6K for Water” in the memo line.

4. Answer the call for volunteer support! We will need cheerers, race-course markers, crossing guards, water bottle passer-outers, and water bottle and banana donations. Sign up on this link, on the sign-up sheet in the Narthex, or email Michelle Chenevert at .

Questions? See Michelle Chenevert, Lisa Price, Cheryl Davies or Lynn Willis for more info or ideas!

Looking forward to seeing you May 18th!
