Lenten Devotion 34 4.4.2020

Tomorrow is Palm Sunday! It is the day we celebrate Jesus triumphant return to Jerusalem. As Jesus entered the city, people threw down cloaks and palm branches. It is a day that we wave palm branches high in the air and sing hosanna on the highest.
Palm branches were a sign of victory and goodness, they were even carved into the walls of the temple. They were also carved on coins and waved by people as kings returned from battle. The palm was a powerful symbol, a symbol of joyous victory. Tomorrow we will be celebrating Palm Sunday from our living rooms. Let’s all raise our palm branches and wave them in victory for Jesus. He conquered death and given us life and hope. Amen.
