1 Timothy 6:11-12
11 But as for you, O man of God, flee these things. Pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, gentleness. 12 Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called and about which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
Everyday I watch the news it seems things get a little worse each day. There is so much uncertainty in the world, it can get overwhelming. It is important for me to remember my hope is in God. God is with us through these troubling times, and we must rely on God. However, this doesn’t mean we should be inactive. As our passage says we need to “fight the good fight of faith.” We need to share our hope with others in fear. We must serve those who do not have food. We must write letters and make phone calls to remind others we care for them. Our mission field is the same, but the circumstances have changed drastically. Let us have strength to reflect the love and hope of Christ in new and creative ways!
Don’t forget to join us for Church this Sunday on Facebook live at 9:30am! Though we can’t be in each others presence, we can still worship together!
