Family Promise – JMPC hosts homeless families by providing sleeping rooms, meals and transportation to and from counseling services. We also provide JMPC facilities for other area churches to staff and host homeless families.

We work with the Family Promise of Southwestern Pennsylvania organization the connects homeless children and families with a network of local congregations and the community focused on supporting families until they can return to sustainable independent lives in their own homes.

In 2018 Family Promise of Southwestern PA (could you include a link to www.familypromiseswpa.org ?) served 28 families in need of housing. Families are a part of this support system for about 5 weeks and 72% ultimately successfully returned to housing. Our efforts at JMPC to serve these families in need have contributed to this vital local outreach program. in 2018, JMPC hosted 24 children and 19 adults, made 60 trips to transport the families to and from our church and the Day Center in Crafton, overnight volunteers stayed 28 nights to ensure a safe home for these families and dinner hosts shared 28 meals in fellowship with the families. We are assisted by support churches : Bethany Lutheran, Ruthfred Lutheran, St. Louise de Merrillac, Mingo Creek Presbyterian and Bethel Presbyterian. Luciano’s Pizzeria of Bethel Park provided dinners for the families on each of the 4 Mondays we hosted.
